Title: CMScout Local File Include and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

CMScout is a PHP-based content manager.

The application is prone to these input-validation vulnerabilities:

1. Multiple local file-include vulnerabilities affect the 'bit' parameter of the 'admin.php' and 'index.php' scripts.

2. An SQL-injection vulnerability affects the 'id' parameter of the 'index.php' script. Note that the attacker must have authenticated access to the affected application.

The attacker can exploit the local file-include vulnerabilities using directory-traversal strings to view and execute arbitrary local files within the context of the webserver process. Information harvested may aid in further attacks.

The attacker can exploit the SQL-injection vulnerability to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database.

CMScout 2.06 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • CMScout CMScout 2.06
